The group hiked back into Dolly Copp Campground this afternoon after an exciting couple of days in the mountains!
Enjoying their stays at Madison Hut and Lake of the Clouds Hut, the group had an amazing view from Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the Northeastern US!
Pictures to come, but wanted everyone to know they had a blast and they're laughing and relaxing back at camp!

Into the Whites!
New England Explorer has had a busy couple of days! After their monumental biking quest, and a thrilling day hike, the kids enjoyed a well earned town day in lovely Bar Harbor! The timing worked out well as they found themselves in civilization for celebrating the 4th! Complete with ice cream treats and fireworks!
Next the group travelled to Dolly Copp Campground in New Hampshire for their exciting last leg of the trip... hiking the Huts! A serious treat as they'll spend their remaining days seeing incredible views and their nights enjoying the cooking of the hut crews and sleeping in bunks!

Bike Journey Begin!
A monumental couple of days for the New England Explorer group!
With helmets secured and plenty of air in the tires... they crossed the ferry to Winter Harbor and began their 26 mile trek into their campsite at Lamoine State Park! It was a great day full of amazing scenery, a support van complete with one of Longacre's most hilarious staffers and as the picture indicates... lots of team spirit!
This morning the group saddled up again and biked their final leg straight into downtown Bar Harbor. Another day of impressive mileage and high spirits!

Historical Biking!
Yesterday the gang biked Acadia's famous Carriage Trails! These trails, a gift of John D. Rockefeller, weave all around the park giving the kids a motor-free way to see the scenic valleys and mountains of Acadia!
Now that they're in the biking mindset... they'll continue on some longer, exciting bike trips taking them across a ferry this morning and all the way into camp tonight!
We'll keep you posted on their progress!

Kayak-mania!
An AMAZING day on the water today with NEX!
Our 7 full hours of kayaking included TWO porpoise sightings and even a seal bobbing around our boats!
The kiddos are all back at camp, changed into warm, dry clothes and prepping a delicious hot meal.
Only two flips today... and they were the two fearless Longacre leaders... looks like we've got plenty to learn from these talented young adventurers!

Move Over Chris Sharma!
With two full days of serious rock climbing under their belts (harnesses), the New England Explorer crew is headed back to camp "pumped," satisfied... and showered!
Day one at the famous Otter Cliffs proved the perfect amount of challenge for this athletic group! Josh dominated each route, Emma can't stop talking about how thrilling it was and even Fiona's fear of heights didn't keep her from harnessing up!
The sunny weather had everyone headed to the beach to cool off at the end of the day and the talk around the dinner circle was encouraging and hilarious. This cohesive group is made of engaged and active members... and its only day 4!
Today the group headed to climb at the Lower Wall of the Precipice! More of a backcountry climbing setting and everyone was eager to put their cumulating rock knowledge into action! There were endless words of encouragement and support from the ground as each climber made their ascent!
After their well earned showers, they're back at camp and getting ready to hit the sack early for a full day of sea kayaking tomorrow!
